CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
City Council Meetings are currently held in person at the Council Chambers and livestreamed on the City website and Public Local Access Channel 3. Limited attendance will be available due to COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of the public.

Pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, real time public participation for public comments and/or public testimony will take place in person and will continue to occur telephonically and/or in writing until further notice. For those interested in making public comments, you may address the City Council in person or call the City Clerk’s office as listed below until the day of the meeting prior to the start of each Public Comments period.

In order to conduct a timely meeting, the maximum time allotted for members of the public to speak on any or all agenda items and on any Non-Agenda Item(s) shall not exceed three (3) minutes per person; the period for all “Public Comments” may be limited to 30-minutes. The public can submit speaker card requests telephonically by calling at (323) 887-1216. Staff will complete the speaker cards and speakers will be called in the order received. Speaker cards will be addressed during the “Public Comments” periods only. In person speakers will be addressed first, telephonic speaker cards will follow thereafter. City Council Meeting – Closed Session begins at 5:00 p.m. and Regular Session begins no later than 6:00 p.m. An exact call back time is not predictable due to the nature of the City Council agenda. As a result, you must be available until the end of the public comments period.

Public comments can be submitted by email to
[email protected] until the day of the meeting, between 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Emailed comments will be submitted to all members of the City Council and may not be read aloud but will be entered into the record of the proceedings to the extent they relate to matters listed on the posted agenda or otherwise address matters/issues within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. Any requests to provide public comment which is submitted after the deadlines indicated above will not be submitted to the City Council until the after the meeting, with the exception of non-agenda written item comments.
