The City of Montebello invites students to participate in our Black History Month Student Art & Essay Contest! This is a chance for students to learn about Black history, support Black voices, and express their ideas through creativity and writing.
 
Who Can Participate
Students who attend an elementary, middle, or high school in Montebello.
 
Contest Categories
🎨 Art: 11" x 17" (Download the artwork template here.)
✍️ Essay: 200–300 words (typed or handwritten)
Using the theme: Learn. Support. Express.
 
Submission Window
🗓️ Opens: February 5, 2026
🗓️ Deadline: February 17, 2026
📌 Deliver submissions with an application to the Recreation & Community Services Office, 1700 W Victoria Ave.
