A dedicated public servant and community advocate, she has a long history of volunteerism and civic engagement, including previously serving as an assistant youth soccer coach and youth group ministry leader. Before joining the City Council, she served on Montebello’s Traffic and Safety Commission, representing District 4.
At just 17 years old, Danielle enlisted in the United States Army as a Unit Supply Specialist and trained as a Combat Lifesaver. Her veteran banner is proudly displayed along Whittier Boulevard, honoring her military service. Today, she continues her commitment to serving those who served as an accredited Veteran Service Officer for the American Legion Los Angeles County Council, assisting veterans and their families with VA benefits, disability claims, housing resources, and employment assistance.
Throughout her involvement with the American Legion, Danielle has held several leadership positions, including serving as the first female veteran Captain of the Honor Guard at Montebello American Legion Post 272, 3rd Vice Commander, and member of the Board of Directors. She also previously served as Assistant Adjutant for American Legion District 19 and Community Service Chairman for the American Legion Auxiliary. She is a member of the Honor Society of Women Legionnaires.
In addition to her responsibilities on the Montebello City Council, Mayor Pro Tem Romero serves on the Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) Commission, the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG), and the Alameda Corridor-East (ACE), advocating for regional collaboration and improvements that benefit Montebello residents.
Mayor Pro Tem Romero remains committed to supporting economic development, strengthening public safety, improving city infrastructure, investing in parks and open spaces, and ensuring responsible growth. As a former Girl Scout, proud Army veteran, and mother of three, she is especially passionate about empowering young women, supporting veterans, and creating opportunities for future generations.
In her free time, Danielle enjoys cruising Whittier Boulevard with her family and celebrating Montebello's rich lowrider culture.
Her dedication to public service is guided by a simple principle: “Service Before Self,” and her commitment to leadership is reflected in her motto: “Courage to Serve, Strength to Lead.”
